If God is for us . . . who's gonna end up chopping themselves up?

In JUDGES, Israel was disobedient again because the next generation rose who did not know the Lord or what He had done for them. And the Lord was angry with them. But this time, He began to show pity because of their groaning. So, instead of driving them out immediately He decided to test them to see whether they would keep His ways or not.

Meanwhile, He raised up a female deliverer. A prophetess and judge named Deborah. She ordered a man named Barak to do as the Lord had commanded (to pursue the army of Sisera who had all his army and 900 chariots of iron with 10,000 of his men) yet he would not get the glory because the king would be delivered into the hand of a woman. So, sure enough he did it and killed them with the edge of the sword but King Sisera ran away. He went to a tent of a family that was friendly with the king. However, as soon as he fell asleep, the woman of the tent pounded a stake through his head.

So, Deborah and Barak made up a song about the event as to how the Lord delivered Israel.

God delivered Midian and his whole camp into the hands of Gideon, a man of Israel. He took his men and divided them into three companies and had them surround the camp. He put a trumpet in everyone's hand and empty pitchers with torches inside the pitchers. Then he told them 'do as I do.' So, they copied Gideon and they blew their trumpets and broke the pitchers with the torches inside and they cried, "The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!" The whole army of Midian within the camp cried out and fled. When the trumpets were blown the Lord set every man's sword against his companion throughout the whole camp. (In other words, the Midianites began to attack eachother 'CHOP CHOP' because they were running in fear all around) And - they fled to the border. Gideon's men ended up capturing two princes and brought their heads to Gideon.(Judges 7:15-25)http://www.timshen.truepath.com/christian/gideon_blowing_trumpet_smashed_jars_lg_clr.gif

We as the children of God are also called JARS OF CLAY. This is like the pitchers in this story with the torches inside. Everytime we proclaim the WORD OF THE LORD WITH US, we are bursting our light forth and scattering the enemies causing them to be destroyed. What an awesome God! See how perfect HIS WORD is!
